A few weeks ago I spent a weekend in Hamburg (Germany) together with a good friend of mine. It was the first time for me; she had been there before. However, I really wanted to go to Hamburg, because my current favourite interpreter gave a concert there. Since she already knew a little bit about Hamburg, I was able to get to know Hamburg from its best side and I would like to share my experience with you.
Since we were both only 16 years old at the time of the trip, we decided against a hostel or an AirBnB and for a hotel. I was responsible for the choice of hotel and I felt we picked the most run-down hotel of Hamburg. When we arrived in Hamburg, we had to decide quickly for a new one and we chose the MotelOne, because we both had only good experiences with this hotel chain. The price-performance ratio was perfectly ok and the location was perfect. We slept in Hamburg Altona, which is only about 10 minutes away from the city centre by public transport.
This café was recommended to me by my friends and I can only warmly recommend it to you – Speicherstadt Kaffeerösterei. A very rustic café in the centre of the Speicherstadt. But the café is mainly known for its homemade coffee and waffles.
I don’t think I need to say much more about this. In my opinion the most beautiful building and concert hall in Hamburg. Definitely worth a visit, as it is located right next to the promenade and thus next to countless restaurants and ice cream parlors.
